Chopta is a meadow at 2,700m surrounded by rhododendron forest, with Tungnath, the highest of the Panch Kedar temples, an hour's walk above it. Keep going for another 45 minutes and Chandrashila gives you Nanda Devi, Trishul and Chaukhamba in one sweep.

Pahunchna kaise hai

Haridwar or Rishikesh is the railhead; Chopta is around 8 hours further by road. Dehradun is the nearest airport.

Log kya galat samajhte hain

Tungnath is 3.5km uphill from Chopta on a paved path, and Chandrashila is another 1.5km of proper climbing above it. Plenty of people stop at the temple, and that is a perfectly good day.
